I was once told that keyboard players and electric guitar players don’t get along. And for quite a while I believed this to be true. As the keyboard player on the church’s worship team, I couldn’t stand the electric guitar player who stood next to me on Sundays. Now don’t feel too badly for the guy. The feelings were mutual. I thought he was too flirty, and he thought I was too stand-offish. But then one day, everything changed.
Ten plus years later (which included a move to the Northwest and the addition of our two adorable kiddos), I’ve come to believe that some keyboard players and electric guitar players do actually get along. In fact, they make a pretty great team.
So, what’s your story? Was it love-at-first sight? Are you high school sweethearts? Are you just about to plunge into the adventure of marriage? Or have you been married for a while and are now in the throes of parenthood? Or perhaps you are just about to graduate high school or college and head out to the great unknown?
We all have a story – with ups and downs, heartaches and triumphs, hard work and celebrations. Moments we wish we could live in forever and others we are thankful are in the past. One of the beautiful things about photography is the ability to freeze a chosen moment to be cherished forever. A moment that can be passed on to the next generation.
Sometimes all it takes is one photograph to transport us back to that moment, reminding us of the smells, the sights, the feelings, the sounds, the experience.
This is a big part of why I do what I do. I capture moments so that you’ll remember the day you committed to love each other forever. The day you adopted your child. The way you looked when you were graduating from high school. The big cheesy grins of your children… the moments we are sure we will always remember DO fade with time. And that’s the power of a photograph – remembrance.
